The Latest in Technology

You would think that being in the computer industry we would of all people be on the up and up on what is going on with the current market. But sometimes things progress so fast that things slip through our fingers as well. We certainly want to bring to our clients the best that there is available. Certainly at the best price we can.

There was an article in PC World written by By Tom Henderson, ITworld    Jul 24, 2011 1:43 pm that said Malware is a Disease; Let's Treat it that way.

Were these a human virus, the CDC would be subjecting it to observation and protocols, while someone was racing to invent vaccinations for the world to use continue reading here.

Confidential Information

The time has come we have purged all of our old clients files. We have two big boxes of papers to be shredded and since we only have a small shredder at the moment it will take us a month to catch up. I am curious to find out what other do to keep track of all their clients files? There has to be an easier more effective way to handle this.

Warranty information, disks that stay with us until their warranties expire or if they decide that they don't need our services anymore. Where does it all go? Especially when they have picked up their places of business and moved without a forwarding address as well.

We used to also use just a Rolodex for business cards but that too has to be changed. It has taken over our desks and isn't the most effective way of trying to find someone that should be at the tip of the fingers.

Maybe we need to start using a Palm Handheld instead. Looks easy enough for even a toddler. Sure beats all this paper floating around.

What do you think?

New Filing System

Boy! We sure do have a mess of an office. We are looking for a particular folder and for the life of us we cannot find it. It contains some pretty heavy encrypted documents that need to be opened tonight or a client will go without for awhile. We have file boxes but they are so over loaded with stuff what to keep and what not to keep is the question.

So here it is 10:33pm and I am opening every piece of mail, folder and anything else I can get my hands on to see where this folder might be.

What do other people do? Go paperless, scan them, what? Help me I can't move anymore.
